"Cheap Thrills" demonstrates that, despite sympathy for Theodor Adorno's devastating critique of bourgeois tonal music, Frank Zappa rejected the aristocratic tendencies of Adorno's circle: hence Zappa's Negation of the Negation, or, Cheap Thrills All Over the Seat. For those who understand (along with Hegel) that culture is the inversion of life, there is no "good sex" or "bad sex", Just Sex. Please note that this soundfile has been sourced from the vinyl LP issued by Verve in 1969; in the mid-80s, claiming that the rhythm track on the master tape had "deteriorated", Zappa replaced the pertinent rhythmic simplicities of Estrada and Black with over-echoic double bass. Beware all CD versions! This post is dedicated to Dave Black, author of **The Philosophical Roots of Anti-Capitalism**.
